Children’s tantrums may be re-classed as psychiatric disorders
Filed Under Big Government, Big Pharma, Child Protection Services, Children's Health | 8 Comments
There is good news for Big Pharma.
Childhood temper tantrums, teenage irritability and binge eating may soon rate as psychiatric disorders in the US, according to proposed changes to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual, the bible of the psychiatric profession. The proposals are the product of a 10-year effort to update the handbook, which influences the vast network of American healthcare providers, insurance companies, courts, prisons and universities. At stake are billions of dollars in insurance payments, pharmaceutical sales and medical fees. Read more

Filed Under Big Government, Child Protection Services, Children's Health, Health Care Reform, The Mother's Act | 17 Comments
A British mother had her two year old son temporarily taken away for refusing to feed him junk food . Lisa Hessey is a believer in healthy foods not just for herself but her children. Like many toddlers her son was unhappy with his mother’s healthy home cooked meals. Concerned about his falling weight she took took him to the doctor. This simple act triggered a shocking chain of events that led to her son being snatched away from her. To her and her husband’s horror, social workers put Zak into foster care ‘to assess his needs’ and allegedly threatened the couple with the loss of their parental rights if they fought the decision in court. Deadly Chemical Showing Up In San Francisco Bay
Filed Under Cancer, Child Protection Services, Children's Health | 1 Comment
A carcinogenesis chemical is showing up in San Francisco’s bay. The chemical is chlorinated tris. It used to be used in children’s pajamas as fire retardant but was banned long ago due to it’s cancer causing properties. So how did a chemical that was banned over thirty years ago suddenly show up in the bay? It appears that the chemical retardant is now being used by European furniture companies to act as a fire retardant for the foam cushions. It seems the chemical gos from the furniture into the air in the form of house dust and then into the bay. The dust is not just a problem for the fish but our children. Read more

Robert Watts
Health and safety inspectors are to be given unprecedented access to family homes to ensure that parents are protecting their children from household accidents.

EMERGENCY: Child Sex Abuse Situation Needs Your E-Activism, Now!
Filed Under Child Protection Services, Children's Health | Leave a Comment
You can do something, right now, to help rip the lid off the cover-up of one of the biggest child sex abuse scandals, EVER. It’s a huge, creepy story, and people died in the cover up. The Washington Times had this on their front page, before the story totally disappeared. See it here
My (Wayne Madsen – ed) friend Nick Bryant just pulled off the impossible, and published an authoritative book on this, called “The Franklin Scandal.” (Trine Day, 2009). He took a lot of heat to get this book out. Now he needs your help.
The GOP’s Lawrence King was never prosecuted for sex abuse. Nick and I just found out that King’s still active in the DC Suburbs, publicly speaking at after school programs at the Granville Academy! We were apoplectic! Yet, progressive media leaders tell Nick they lack “the fortitude” to publish about this in their magazines.
Nancy Grace has a show on CNN, and she focuses on child sex abuse. Perfect. Let’s get Nick and the Franklin Scandal story on her show.
Then, please spread the message far and wide to friends and associates through email, social networks, and word of mouth.

Paralysed Cancer Drug Girl to be Put on At-Risk Register ‘to Shut Her Up’

A mother who is planning legal action against a pharmaceutical giant – claiming her daughter was left partially paralysed after having an anti-cancer vaccine – has been told the teenager is to be put on the social services ‘at-risk’ register.
Cheryl Cave says allegations that she is abusing her 13-year-old daughter Ashleigh are an attempt to ‘shut her up’ as she is demanding an investigation into the safety of a drug used to protect girls against the HPV virus that causes cervical cancer.
Ashleigh collapsed shortly after being given the jab at school and has spent nearly a year in hospital.
Ms Cave, 38, is now consulting lawyers about taking action against pharmaceutical giant GlaxoSmithKline and wants a full investigation into the safety of the drug Cervarix. She is being supported by lawyer Peter Todd, who is launching a multi-million-pound action on behalf of about ten teenage girls in the UK, including Ashleigh. Read more

Early Spankings Make for Aggressive Toddlers, Study Shows
Filed Under Child Protection Services | Leave a Comment
Jennifer Thomas
Children who are spanked as 1-year-olds are more likely to behave aggressively and perform worse on cognitive tests as toddlers than children who are spared the punishment, new research shows.
Though the negative effects of spanking were “modest,” the study adds to a growing body of literature that’s finding spanking isn’t good for children. Read more

Home Births with Midwife Safe As Hospital for Babies, Fewer Infections and Less Bleeding for Moms
Filed Under Child Protection Services, Natural Solutions, Organic | Leave a Comment
(NaturalNews) The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) has a long-standing opposition to home births. In fact, their official statement released last year actually accuses women who want a home birth of placing “the process of giving birth over the goal of having a healthy baby”. The statement goes on to say “ACOG believes that the safest setting for labor, delivery, and the immediate postpartum period is in the hospital, or a birthing center within a hospital complex…” Read more

SPECIAL BULLETIN NATIONAL HEALTH SCARE

Up until now, we at HFA have been advocates of single payer as a medical industry reform. The mantra was “it isn’t socialized medicine, it’s socialized insurance.” Legislation working out a single payer plan should take 20 pages, tops. Now that the 1000+ page health care bill has hit the streets and details of the proposed legislation have come to light, we have to change our position. This is a bad bill and for once, it isn’t being rammed down our throats in the middle of the night. I had been thinking this would be a good subject to editorialize, but after reading Rick Joyner’s piece below, I couldn’t think of much else to add. – ed

When I read the brief on what was contained in the National Health Care bill that is now being presented before Congress, I could not believe I was reading something that was actually being considered in the United States of America. This is not about money or government mismanagement—this is about something far more diabolical than that. As incomprehensible as it may seem, this is about euthanasia, the power to determine who lives or dies in America. Hitler and Stalin would have loved to have had a means such as this for dispatching the millions they killed—it would have made their job much easier, and probably given them the ability to kill many more than they did. THIS BILL IS THAT SINISTER. This is not a joke—this is actually the nature of what is being proposed in the National Health Care legislation, and it is the obvious reason why the Obama Administration wants to ram it through Congress before anyone gets a chance to read it. There is a knock at the front door. Peeking through the window, a mother sees a man and a woman, both in uniform. They are agents of health-care reform. “Excuse me, ma’am,” says the man. “Our records show that your eleven-year-old daughter has not been immunized for genital warts.” “And your four-year-old still needs the chicken-pox vaccine,” says the woman. “He will not be allowed to start kindergarten unless he gets that shot, you know,” says the man—smiling from ear to ear. “So, can we please come in?” asks the woman. “We have the vaccines right here,” she says, lifting up a black medical bag. “We can give your kids the shots right now.” Read more
